Based on results from a survey of 255 employers, the National Association of Colleges and Employers identified the three top ‘competencies’ they were seeking in job candidates as: communication, teamwork, and critical thinking¹. These align perfectly with the three C’s of the Berkeley Changemaker curriculum.

As you go into your next job interview, consider a few examples of how you developed and practiced these skills in your classes.

1. Communication: What did you learn about the tactics of persuasion, listening skills, and working to understand your audience so you can speak to their unique viewpoint.

2. Collaboration: What strategies did you learn for working in a team setting, managing diverse perspectives, and handling difficult conversations?

3. Critical Thinking: How did you learn to ask better questions to clearly define problems?
